OLYMPIC PLUM CUSTARD

Olympic Plum Custard

Hemerocallis 'Olympic Plum Custard (2004) Tetraploid, Lemon with plum eye and narrow edge above chartreuse throat. 36" scape, 5.5" flower, EM, dormant, 4 branches, 20 buds, emo. (Unknown X H. 'Custard Candy'), Seedling #98-39.

H. 'Olympic Plum Custard' is reminiscent of a rich egg custard topped with a sweet plum sauce. In warm weather, even the custard color petals are overlaid with a thin layer of plum nectar. 'Olympic Plum Custard' has the narrowest segments of this year's introductions, suggesting that it could be used in breeding for narrow as well as for full formed children. Tall, sturdy, well-branched scapes hold the flowers well above the foliage. Bloom season is long, with opening and flower quality consistently good. The plant is vigorous and multiplies well. The "unknown" parent is probably H. 'Designer Magic'. It is pod fertile, but I have not tried the pollen. ---$25.00
