The dazzling Snow Dome of Olympic National Park's Mount Olympus inspired the name for H. 'Olympic Snow Dome'. As its name suggests, the flower color appears as an off-white. It has always been an eye-catcher ever since its first bloom, and because of its size, only one open bloom is required to make an impact. An established plant produces a generous number of scapes, thus the relatively low branching and bud count is not as serious a problem as it would be with smaller flowers. I can't remember any blooms that were not wide open first thing in the morning, and they have been of consistent quality. 'Olympic Snow Dome' is an outstanding plant for the Pacific Northwest.
